Student Life

From the day the first 108 students entered Luther College, the halls were filled with energy and activity. The goal was to balance a vibrant social environment with strong academic commitment. In 1926, students and faculty organized clubs and extracurriculars with the understanding that they were creating traditions that would endure for generations.

Over the past century, Luther students have taken part in countless activities, events, and organizations. Many alumni fondly recall dorm pranks, spending time at the local confectionery (Aintree’s Grocery), as well as hayrides, picnics, holiday festivities, dances, and school excursions.

Today, the student body reflects a rich diversity of backgrounds, including different regions, nationalities, identities, and beliefs, along with an ever-expanding range of clubs and interests.
